The Adani Foundation unveiled a dairy development program in Kawai, Rajasthan, according to a video posted on X. The foundation said that it has engaged more than 600 women in its dairy development program in the region.
The women earn between Rs 10,000-Rs 15,000 monthly. The foundation is committed to making communities at the grassroots, "self reliant and empowered", it said.
The video post also included an interview with Kamlesh Bai from the Baldevpura village in Kawai, who stated that she has been running a dairy for the past two to three years and earns around Rs 10,000-15,000 a month.
Apart from this, ACC Ltd., the cement and building material company of the diversified Adani Portfolio, partnered with the Adani Foundation, to create sustainable livelihoods in rural Tikaria, Uttar Pradesh, by supporting women through self-help groups.
Garima Tiwari, one of the beneficiaries was interviewed by the organisation and spoke about her journey and her efforts to achieve financial independence, while positively impacting her community. She set up a home-based RO water plant with support from various sources.
The Adani Foundation provided Rs 60,000 in assistance, along with training and exposure visits to help her gain a thorough understanding of the RO water business. Tiwari further secured funding of Rs 1 lakh from the 'Laxhmi' self-help group, Rs 1.5 lakh from the Uttar Pradesh National Rural Livelihoods Mission, and an additional Rs 3 lakh personal bank loan.
With substantial support, Garima Tiwari said she had successfully established a home-based RO water plant, providing clean drinking water to local markets in the Gouriganj area. Her venture not only ensures access to safe water but also generated a steady monthly income of Rs 19,000.
