The Sashastra Seema Bal has arrested around 60 individuals suspected to have fled Nepalese prisons during the recent unrest, officials said on Friday.
Those detained were picked up over the past two days from different crossing points in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal. They have been handed over to local police for questioning, officials told PTI.

At a Kathmandu press meet, Sudan Gurung of Hami Nepal said the movement’s demand is for parliament’s dissolution and a non-partisan government with Gen Z representation. “The constitution will not be scrapped but it needs revision,” Gurung said, as reported The Indian Express.

Youth leaders of Nepal’s Gen Z uprising cautioned against political parties trying to infiltrate and divide their movement.
Ojashwi Raj Thapa said the protests demand parliament’s dissolution, not scrapping of the constitution, stressing that the youth aren’t ready to take full leadership yet.
Another leader, Anil Baniya, blamed political cadres for violence and vandalism, reiterating the movement’s intent to remain peaceful while pushing for reforms and accountability.
