Students who recently received their Class 10 and 12 results from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and are dissatisfied with their scores will soon be able to apply for re-evaluation and verification.
According to the latest notification by CBSE, the application process will be launched shortly on the board’s official website — https://www.cbse.gov.in/.
Step-By-Step Process
Students must apply for verification of marks before requesting a re-evaluation. This initial step is important, as the board requires students to obtain a scanned photocopy of their evaluated answer book before they can move forward with re-evaluation.
Once the scanned copy is received, students should thoroughly examine it for any possible discrepancies in the marking. If any issue is identified, they can then proceed to submit a request for re-evaluation.
How To Apply For Verification Of Marks
To initiate the verification process, candidates should follow these steps:
Visit the CBSE official website at https://www.cbse.gov.in/.
Click on the ‘Apply for Verification’ tab.
Choose the relevant class — either Class 10 or Class 12.
Enter your birth date and roll number to log in.
Pay a processing fee of Rs 500 per subject.
The board will notify students of the outcome — whether there is an increase or decrease in marks — through their individual login accounts.

Obtaining The Photocopy Of The Answer Book
Students can apply for a scanned copy of their answer sheet after the verification request has been done. Here’s how they can do it:
Logging onto https://www.cbse.gov.in/.
Selecting the ‘Apply for Answer Book’ option.
Enter the same credentials used during the verification step.
Paying Rs 500 per subject as the processing charge.
The scanned copies will be uploaded to each student’s account, with all personal identifiers of the evaluator or examiner carefully redacted to ensure anonymity.
Applying For Re-Evaluation Of Answers
Following receipt and review of the answer book, if students still believe there is an error in marking, they may apply for re-evaluation. The steps are:
Go to the CBSE website at https://www.cbse.gov.in/.
Click on the ‘Apply for Re-evaluation’ tab.
Use the login credentials used for downloading the answer book.
To seek a new evaluation, pay a fee of Rs 100 per question.
Each response will be reviewed by a new examiner. If any changes in scores are warranted, they will be made accordingly. The student's login account will be updated with information about the re-evaluation.
Important Note For Applicants
The CBSE has clarified that re-evaluation can only be requested once per subject. No appeals or reviews will be entertained after the re-evaluation results are issued. Students are advised to monitor the official CBSE website for updates regarding the application window, timelines, and further instructions.
