After China’s DeepSeek upended ChatGPT's reign in generative artificial intelligence, and Elon Musk's X unveiled Grok 3 just weeks back, a new AI agent has fired up from the “Land of the Red Dragon,” taking the AI space by storm.

Manus AI—the latest AI model from China—is being claimed as the 'world's first general AI agent' utilising several AI models operating in concert, in contrast to ChatGPT, Claude, and other single-model systems. Thanks to its multi-agent methodology, it claims to have more capabilities than traditional AI assistants. 

Manus is the latest in the horde of AI agents the world has witnessed off late, many are talking about it, and some are claiming it is better than its rivals, and even its Chinese sibling DeepSeek.

In one of the demos, Manus AI was asked to build a website. Reportedly, in just one hour, the agent can replicate websites, with the resulting site appearing nearly identical, complete with animations. This is an enhanced capability than what DeepSeek has.

Manus was given the task of analysing the stock of three companies in a demo. It was reportedly able to conduct a thorough analysis of Tesla’s stock by conducting research and using SWOT analyses, charts, and graphs. However, DeepSeek simply provides a brief synopsis of Tesla’s stock.

3. SEO Analysis

To obtain a thorough SEO assessment of a website, businesses need to enter their URL into Manus AI, and it provides a detailed report. On the other hand, DeepSeek will reportedly only show the company’s name and some random details.

4. Gaming Projects

By producing 3D models of games, completing game implementation, and disseminating game updates to customers, Manus AI can also develop a project framework for three.js games. In addition, it features a cursor and an AI game, which DeepSeek lacks.

By utilising p5.js, Manus AI can produce animations. Its creative capabilities include, for instance, attracting or repelling particles in sync with the movement and clicking of a mouse.

Manus does not “intentionally censor factual information” and is able to deliver truthful, uncensored replies. For instance, it gave a vivid description of the Tiananmen Square massacre, saying that the Chinese government carried out a violent crackdown on pro-democracy protesters. DeepSeek, on the contrary, is apparently “programmed” to provide answers that follow the government’s position on topics deemed politically sensitive in China.

While DeepSeek offers responses to prompts through a chat-style interface, Manus can run autonomously after an instruction, undertaking tasks such as reading multiple books and offering summaries, scanning resumes, and booking tickets with greater autonomy.
