Intel on Jan. 6 unveiled the new Core Ultra (Series 2) processors at CES 2025, aimed at improving mobile computing for businesses, creators and gamers. The latest additions to the Intel Core Ultra family feature artificial intelligence (AI) enhancements, with improvements in efficiency and performance, the technology major revealed.
The new Intel Core Ultra 200V series mobile processors with Intel vPro are aimed at helping businesses improve AI-driven productivity and IT management. The processors feature an updated Intel vPro platform and Microsoft Copilot+ and offer advanced security and manageability.
For creators and gamers, Intel introduced the Core Ultra 200HX and H series mobile processors. The processors have up to 24 cores (eight Performance-cores and 16 Efficient-cores) for HX-series and up to 16 cores (six P-cores, eight E-cores and two low-power E-cores) for H-series. They feature an integrated neural processing unit for AI systems, and Arc GPUs are available on select H-series processor-powered systems.
For mainstream mobile users, Intel launched its Core Ultra 200U series mobile processors featuring up to two P-cores and eight E-cores and Intel X LPG graphics.
The company also expanded its Core Ultra 200S series desktop processors with 12 new 65-watt and 35-watt offerings. Featuring up to eight P-cores and 16 E-cores, these new processors improve performance and power efficiency of desktop CPUs for gaming, creating or using productivity applications.
Intel also unveiled a new suite of processors for edge computing designed to provide scalability and performance across diverse use cases. These processors, particularly the Intel Core Ultra 9, are suitable for AI workloads, enhancing performance in areas like media processing and AI analytics, the company said.
Intel also announced updates to its next-generation processor family built on Intel 18A.
