Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max: Launch Date, Features, Specifications And More

Apple is on track to unveil its upcoming iPhone 17 series, scheduled for launch in September. Touted as ‘ultra-slim’, the Apple iPhone 17 Air model will be a lighter and more affordable option within the latest offering.

Other models in the series will include iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The pro models will come with their own advantages and be placed at the higher price bands. This time, Apple is not going to introduce the iPhone 17 Plus model and it will be replaced by the Air model.

Compared to their predecessors, the iPhone 17 Pro models will have several enhanced features. While Pro and Pro Max will compete as equals on many specifications, the major difference will likely be the screen size and RAM capacity.

Tech enthusiast Technical Guruji, who boasts 23 million subscribers on YouTube, has already reviewed the dummy models of the upcoming iPhone 17 series. In his video, the pro models, when placed side by side, show that they vary in size. While the iPhone 17 Pro appears to have a 6.3-inch ProMotion retina display, the iPhone 17 Max Pro will come in a 6.9-inch display size.

Both will be equipped with the latest A19 Pro chipset, Apple's next-generation processor set to significantly enhance the iPhone experience. The iPhone 16 Pro may come with 12 GB RAM. The video also showed that both models will have a similar camera unit design. 

The three lenses-- the primary, telephoto and ultra-- are all expected to be 48 MP each. The selfie camera could be 24 MP, reports indicate.

In terms of dimensions, other features include a camera control and power button on one side, while the ‘Action button’ and volume button are on the other side.

The models will come with a USB-C charging port and the battery capacities are expected to surpass the iPhone 16 series.

One notable difference in design is that this time, both pro models have the camera unit pushed until the top edge of the phone.

Apple is expected to increase the iPhone prices this year due to ongoing US trade policy changes. Some reports indicate that the iPhone 17 Pro Max version might exceed $2,300 in certain international markets.
