Torrent Power Ltd.'s consolidated net profit more than doubled in the quarter ended March on the back of deferred tax credit of Rs 590 crore.
The company posted a profit of Rs 1,060 crore in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2025 as compared to Rs 430 crore in the same period last year, according to an exchange filing on Wednesday.
In financial year 2025, the company received income tax refunds, including interest income of Rs 427 crore pertaining to earlier years.

Revenue down 1.1% to Rs 6,456.3 crore versus Rs 6,528.6 crore (Bloomberg estimate: Rs 6,540 crore).
Ebitda up 2% to Rs 1,130.79 crore versus Rs 1,109.09 crore (Estimate: Rs 1,169 crore).
Margin expands to 17.5% versus 17% (Estimate: 18%).
Net profit up 147% to Rs 1,060 crore versus Rs 430 crore (Estimate: Rs 474 crore).

The company also reported its segment-wise revenue for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2025, with the generation segment making Rs 1,246 crore as compared to the year-ago period when it was Rs 2,195.7 crore, a decline of 43%. Its transmission and distribution segment fared better, making Rs 5,830.2 crore, a 4.2% increase.
The firm recorded a consolidated net profit of Rs 2,988.5 crore for fiscal 2025, a sharp rise from Rs 1,833.2 crore in the previous fiscal, while revenue rose to Rs 29,165 crore from Rs 27,183 crore.
Fundraising
The company approved raising of funds through the issuance of non-convertible debentures up to Rs 3,000 crore in one or more tranches via a private placement.
Dividend
The company recommended a final dividend of Rs 5 per equity share of face value of Rs 10 each. The final dividend, post declaration at the ensuing annual general meeting, will be paid to the members on or before Sept. 4.
A pipeline of more than 3 GW of renewable projects and 3 GW of pump storage hydro power project is under construction, according to Chairperson Samir Mehta.
Shares of Torrent Power closed 1.49% higher at Rs 1,448 apiece on the NSE, compared to a 0.36% rise in the benchmark Nifty.
