Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd.'s consolidated net profit fell in the third quarter of the current financial year, missing analysts' estimates.
The company's net profit was down 13% to Rs 311 crore in the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2024, as compared to Rs 359 crore in the same period last year. Analysts polled by Bloomberg had estimated a profit of Rs 358.6 crore.
Revenue from operations declined 2.6% to Rs 4,567 crore in the third quarter, as against Rs 4,689 crore in the year-ago period.

Ebitda down 4% to Rs 239 crore versus Rs 249 crore (Estimate: Rs 254.6 crore).
Margin expands 5.2% versus 5.3% (Estimate: 5.2%).
Net profit down 13% to Rs 311 crore versus Rs 359 crore (Estimate: Rs 333.7 crore).
Shares of RVNL closed 5.11% lower at Rs 359.90 apiece on the NSE, compared to a 0.44% decline in the benchmark Nifty 50.
