HDFC Bank Ltd.'s total advances have grown 5.4% year-on-year to Rs 26.4 lakh crore in the January-March quarter of fiscal 2025, the bank said in an exchange filing on Thursday.

The private lender's deposits increased by 15.8% to Rs 25.3 lakh crore year-on-year during the fourth quarter. HDFC Bank's current account-savings account deposits rose 5.7% to Rs 8.3 lakh crore, the business update said.

In the last quarter, the lender's gross advances stood at Rs 25.4 lakh crore, and deposits were at Rs 24.5 lakh crore.

Retail loans during the quarter were up 9% year-on-year, commercial and rural banking loans were up 12.8%, but corporate loans fell 3.6%.

"During the quarter ended March 31, 2025, the bank securitised/assigned loans of Rs 107 lakh crore (year to date Rs 570 lakh crore) as a strategic initiative," stated the exchange filing.

HDFC Bank will announce its fourth-quarter results on April 19.

The Reserve Bank of India had recently levied a penalty of Rs 75 lakh on HDFC Bank, as per a press release. The penalty is a result of non-compliance with certain directions issued by the RBI under the 'Know Your Customer' policy.

After the RBI's statutory inspection of the bank on March 31, it was discovered that the bank did not categorise certain customers into low-, medium-, or high-risk categories based on its assessment and risk perception. The bank has also allotted multiple customer identification codes to certain customers instead of a unique one for each.

Shares of the banker closed 0.11% lower at Rs 1,794.85 apiece, marginally outperforming the benchmark NSE Nifty 50, which ended 0.35% lower.

The company's returns have grown 21.09% in the past 12 months but have advanced only 1.24% in the year-to-date period.

42 out of the 48 analysts tracking the company have a 'buy' rating on the stock, and six suggest 'sell', according to Bloomberg data. The average of 12-month analyst price targets implies a potential upside of 12.2%.
