Gujarat Gas Q3 Results: Profit Falls 28% QoQ

The fall in earnings was mainly due to the impact of the APM deallocation by the government to city gas distributors during the quarter.

Gujarat Gas Ltd.'s net profit fell on a sequential basis in the third quarter of financial year 2025, missing street expectations by 15%.

The city gas distributor's net profit stood at Rs 220.99 crore in the December 2024 quarter compared to Rs 308.74 crore a quarter ago. Consensus analyst estimates as per Bloomberg pegged the company's net profit to be at Rs 262 crore this quarter.

The fall in earnings was mainly due to the impact of the APM deallocation by the government to city gas distributors during the quarter. The company's Ebitda and margins were mainly impacted due to a 16% uptick in the cost of material consumed.

  • Revenue is up 9.72% at Rs 4152.89 crore vs. Rs 3781.75 crore (Estimate: Rs 4080 crore).

  • Ebitda down 26.01% at Rs 380.45 crore vs. Rs 514.16 crore (Estimate: Rs 441 crore)

  • Margin at 9.16% vs. 13.59%, down 443 bps (Estimate: 10.8%)

  • Net profit down 28.42% at Rs 220.99 crore vs. Rs 308.74 crore (Estimate: Rs 263 crore)

Growth In Volumes

The company's sales volumes in Q3 stood at 9.47 million metric standard cubic meters per day, marking a 3.4% annual growth.

Gujarat Gas' industrial sales volumes stood at 5.46 mmscmd in Q3 versus 5.53 mmscmd for the same quarter last financial year. This marks a 1.2% decline in the company's industrial sales volumes.

The company's domestic sale volumes increased to 0.74 mmscmd in Q3 compared to 0.71 mmscmd a year ago.
