Emami Q3 Results: Profit Up 8%, Announces Dividend Of Rs 4 Per Share

Emami Ltd. reported a net profit of Rs 278.99 crore, representing 8% surge for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2024, of the current fiscal as compared to Rs 258.4 crore for the same period last year.

The Kolkata-based firm's revenue rose 5.3% to Rs 1,049.5 crore for the third quarter as against Rs 996.3 crore for the year-ago period.

The Boroplus maker's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation rose to Rs 386.5 crore, a 6% growth for the October- December quarter from Rs 363.4 crore for the same quarter of the last financial year.

Its margin was flat at 36.8% for the three months ended Dec. 31, 2024, as compared to 36.5% for the same quarter in the corresponding year.

  • Revenue up 5.3% to Rs 1,049.5 crore versus Rs 996.3 crore.

  • Ebitda up 6% to Rs 386.5 crore versus Rs 363.4 crore.

  • Ebitda margin expands to 36.8% versus 36.5%.

  • Net profit up 8% to Rs 278.99 crore versus Rs 258.4 crore.

Dividend

The board of Emami declared its second interim dividend of Rs 4 per share. The dividend is declared on 43.65 shares for the financial year 2024–25. The record date to reveal the shareholders names receiving the dividend is set on Feb. 4, 2025.

It announced its first interim dividend of Rs 4 per share at the meeting held on Nov. 7, 2024.

Acquisitions 

In the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2024, Emami invested in the shares of Helios Lifestyle Pvt. and obtained the remaining shares of the company for Rs 177.6 crore. Post the investment, Helios Lifestyle became a wholly owned subsidiary of the company.

It also converted 10,165 compulsorily convertible preference shares worth Rs 6.87 crore into 4,994 fully paid equity shares of Cannis Lupus Services India Pvt.

This increased Emami's ownership in Cannis Lupus Services from 30% to 47%. Its total investment in Cannis Lupas Services equity shares is now Rs 9.67 crore.

Shares of Emami closed 2.95% lower at Rs 535.05 apiece on the NSE, compared to a 1.14% fall in the benchmark Nifty 50. The share price has risen 7.1% in the last 12 months.

Out of 29 analysts tracking the company, 22 maintain a 'buy' rating on the stock, six recommend 'hold' and one suggests 'sell', according to Bloomberg data. The average of 12-month analysts' price target implies a potential upside of 47.3%.
