Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Microsoft's Chief Executive Officer Satya Nadella to discuss the company's expansion and investment in India and discuss the many facets of technology, innovation, and artificial intelligence.
"Thank you, PM @narendramodi ji for your leadership. Excited to build on our commitment to making India AI-first and work together on our continued expansion in the country to ensure every Indian benefits from this AI platform shift," Nadella said on post on 'X' (formerly known as Twitter)
"It was indeed a delight to meet you, @satyanadella! Glad to know about Microsoft's ambitious expansion and investment plans in India. It was also wonderful discussing various aspects of tech, innovation and AI in our meeting," PM Modi responded.
Nadella had spoken about meeting Modi a year earlier, according to a post from Jan. 5, 2023, where Nadella said he had met with the prime minister in order to put his firm's support fully behind the vision of 'Digital India.'.
The Microsoft CEO described his meeting with PM Modi as "insightful" and praised the administration's commitment to sustainable and inclusive economic growth backed by digital transformation.
"Thank you, @narendramodi, for an insightful meeting. It's inspiring to see the government's deep focus on sustainable and inclusive economic growth led by digital transformation, and we're looking forward to helping India realise the Digital India vision and be a light for the world," Nadella wrote in his post.
Nadella had also met Chief Minister of Telangana Revanth Reddy on Dec. 30 to boost economic growth in the state and to bring Hyderabad into the top 50 cities in the world for generating economic growth.
