Banks in most parts of India will remain closed on Saturday on account of a festive holiday. According to the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) holiday calendar, banks in many states will remain closed on June 7 due to Eid-ul-Adha or Bakrid.
Eid-ul-Adha is one of the most important Islamic festivals. The festival is an occasion of devotion, prayer and sacrifice. It’s widely celebrated by Muslims across India and globally.
States and Union Territories where banks will be closed include Tripura, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Manipur, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Nagaland, West Bengal, New Delhi, Goa, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Meghalaya and Himachal Pradesh.
However, as per the RBI bank holiday calendar, it will be a working day for all public and private lenders in Gujarat, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh on June 7.

Bank Holidays In June 2025
After Eid-ul-Adha, three more bank holidays are scheduled in June. However, these holidays may vary as per regional calendars. Here are the upcoming bank holidays in June:
June 11: Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti/Saga Dawa (Holiday in Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh)
June 27: Ratha Yatra/Kang (Holiday in Odisha, Manipur)
June 30: Remna Ni (Holiday in Mizoram)
Apart from the listed holidays, banks remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month and on all Sundays. At the beginning of every year, the RBI releases a schedule of all national public holidays and state holidays on which banks remain closed.
Even though the physical branches of banks are shut on a holiday, you can continue to access banking services online. Card-related facilities, such as cash withdrawal from ATMs, are also available on a bank holiday. By using online services, you can continue to manage your finances without having to visit the bank.
Services such as UPI payments, opening fixed deposits, checking account balance and NEFT/RTGS transfer can also be done online.
It is important to note that the schedule for bank holidays varies across the country. It is advisable to check the RBI’s official holiday calendar before visiting your bank to avoid inconvenience.
