The top 10 most-valued firms gained a cumulative Rs 95,877.21 crore in market valuation on Thursday, with Reliance Industries Ltd., Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. emerging as the biggest gainers.
RIL's market capitalisation rose by Rs 46,010.07 crore to Rs 16.36 lakh crore, while that of TCS increased by Rs 19,736.67 crore to Rs 13.03 lakh crore. HUL gained Rs Rs 11,395.52 crore, taking its market cap to Rs 5.21 lakh crore.
Bajaj Finance Ltd. and Bharti Airtel Ltd. were also among the top gainers, with their market cap rising by Rs 6,942.05 crore and Rs 3,844.69 crore, respectively.
ICICI Bank Ltd.'s market cap rose Rs 2,893.79 crore to Rs 8.6 lakh crore, while that of Infosys increased by Rs 1,806.24 crore to 7.12 lakh crore.
RIL retained its position as the most-valued firm, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank Ltd., Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Infosys, State Bank of India, Bajaj Finance, HUL and ITC Ltd.
The benchmark indices ended in green for the second straight session on Thursday. The NSE Nifty 50 rose to hit the 22,500-mark again after five sessions, whereas the BSE Sensex reclaimed the 74,000-mark. The Nifty 50 ended 207.4 points or 0.93% higher at 22,544.7, whereas the Sensex closed 609.8 points or 0.83% higher at 74,340.09.
