The top 10 most valued firms together added Rs 13,000 crore in market valuation on Tuesday, with FMCG major ITC Ltd. and private lender ICICI Bank Ltd. emerging as the biggest gainers, in line with a rally in equities.
The NSE Nifty 50 benchmark jumped 112 points, or 0.46%. The market valuation of ITC surged nearly Rs 11,000 crore to Rs 5.65 lakh crore, becoming the biggest gainer among top 10 most valued firms.
ICICI Bank added Rs 9,000 crore, taking its market capitalisation to Rs 8.78 lakh crore.
The valuation of Reliance Industries Ltd. dipped Rs 14,000 crore to Rs 21.52 lakh crore, while that of State Bank of India rose Rs 5,000 crore to Rs 7.69 lakh crore.
Reliance Industries remained the most valued firm followed by Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., HDFC Bank Ltd., ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, State Bank of India, Infosys Ltd., Hindustan Unilever Ltd., ITC and Larsen and Turbo Ltd.
