Jio Financial Services Ltd., Asian Paints Ltd., Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd., IndusInd Bank Ltd. and Adani Enterprises Ltd. were among the top gainers in the NSE Nifty 50 on Friday.
Tata Consumer Products Ltd., Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd., Trent Ltd., Wipro Ltd., and Eternal Ltd. were the top five losers.
Jio Financial Services closed 3.5% higher at Rs 323.45 apiece, followed by Asian Paints, which closed 3.01% higher at Rs 2,358.7 apiece. Apollo Hospitals ended 2.91% higher at Rs 7,308.5 apiece. IndusInd Bank and Adani Enterprises were also among the winners.
Tata Consumers was the biggest laggard, closing 1.84% lower at Rs 1,124.30 apiece, followed by Dr. Reddy's Laboratories closing 1.55% lower at Rs 1,301 apiece, and then Trent closing 1.43% lower at Rs 6,019.5 apiece. Wipro and Eternal were also among the laggards.
Indian benchmark equity indices closed with gains on Friday, led by share prices of Jio Financial Service Ltd. and Asian Paints Ltd.
The NSE Nifty 50 ended 88.8 points or 0.35% higher at 25,637.8, while the BSE Sensex closed 303.03 points, or 0.36% up at 84,058.9. During the day, Nifty rose 0.41% to trade at 25,654.20 and the Sensex advanced 0.40% to 84,089.35. Nifty clocked its best weekly gain in the last six weeks.
