Top 10 Most-Valued Firms Gain Nearly Rs 1,636 Crore In Market Cap, Led By HDFC Bank, HUL

HDFC Bank gained Rs 18,270 crore in market capitalisation to Rs 13.8 lakh crore and Hindustan Unilever gained Rs 1,750 crore with its market cap rising to Rs 5.84 lakh crore.

The top 10 most-valued firms gained cumulative Rs 1,636 crore in market valuation on Wednesday, with HDFC Bank Ltd. and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. emerging as the biggest gainers.

HDFC Bank gained Rs 18,270 crore in market capitalisation to Rs 13.8 lakh crore and Hindustan Unilever gained Rs 1,750 crore with its market cap rising to Rs 5.84 lakh crore.

Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. and State Bank of India were among the top laggards, losing Rs 7,290 crore and Rs 4,060 crore, respectively.

The market capitalisation of Infosys Ltd. was up Rs 1,183 crore to Rs 8.00 lakh crore. On the other hand, Reliance Industries Ltd. lost nearly Rs 3,112 crore, taking its market cap to Rs 17.5 lakh crore.

The market capitalisation of ICICI Bank Ltd. lost Rs 2,606 crore to Rs 9.16 lakh crore. HCL Technology also lost nearly Rs 2,293 crore, taking its market cap to Rs 5.13 lakh crore.

RIL remained the most valued firm, followed by TCS, HDFC Bank Ltd., Airtel, ICICI Bank, Infosys, State Bank of India, Hindustan Unilever Ltd., ITC Ltd. and HCLTech.

Benchmark equity indices continued to gain after a one-day drop on Tuesday and closed at their highest since Nov. 6, led by gains in HDFC Bank Ltd. and Adani Group shares, which emerged as top Nifty contributors.

Globally, market players assessed the impact of Trump's tariff policies and Israel-Lebanon ceasefire and they await key economic data from the US, including prelim GDP and PCE Price index.

Intraday, both Nifty and Sensex rose over 0.6% to hit 24,354.55 and 80,511.15, respectively, their highest levels since Nov. 7. The NSE Nifty 50 ended 0.3%, or 82.65 points up at 24,277.15 and S&P BSE Sensex closed 0.3%, or 238.75 points higher at 80,242.81.
