CDSL Share Price Declines As Underwhelming Q4 Metrics Disappoint Street

Shares of Central Depository Services (India) Ltd. declined over 5% in early trade on Monday, after the company posted a disappointing performance in the final quarter of fiscal 2025.

Revenue dipped by 4.3% to Rs 256 crore on a year-on-year basis in the quarter under question, while net profit for the fourth quarter stood at Rs 100 crore, a dip of 22.4% from Rs 129 crore recorded in the same period during the previous fiscal.

On an operational basis, earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation declined 27% to Rs 107.35 crore versus Rs 148.02 crore, while the margin fell to 47.8% from 61.4% earlier.

The Board of Directors has recommended a final dividend of Rs 12.5 per equity share of face value of Rs 10, subject to the approval of the shareholders at the 27th Annual General Meeting of the company.

Shares of CDSL fell as much as 5.13% to Rs 1,260 apiece, the lowest level since April 21. They pared losses to trade 4.76% lower at Rs 1,265 apiece, as of 09:43 a.m. This compares to a 0.41% advance in the NSE Nifty 50.

The stock has risen 39.11% year-to-date, and has risen 17.99% in the last 12 months. Total traded volume so far in the day stood at 2.5 times its 30-day average. The relative strength index was at 50.16.

Out of 10 analysts tracking the company, two maintain a 'buy' rating, six recommend a 'hold' and two suggest 'sell', according to Bloomberg data. The average 12-month analysts' consensus price target implies a downside of 42%.
