Just Dial may have a direct competitor, finally. Food aggregator Swiggy Ltd. has launched the consumer app for its services marketplace Pyng three months after launching the seller-side app. The new app aims to connect customers to health and wellness experts, financial advisors, astrologers, event planners, travel and lifestyle experts and education and skill trainers.
The Bengaluru-based firm had, in early January, launched the business partner side of the app called Pyng Professional. The app was initially taking inputs from prospective service providers via an interest form where experts needed to add their personal and professional details.
Pyng has been rapidly onboarding professionals, the company said in a press release. "With over 1,000 professionals across over 100 specialisations, Pyng aims to transform how consumers access professional advice by connecting them with a diverse range of specialists," Swiggy said.
Pyng is currently live for users in Bengaluru, the company added. Online services from the likes of financial advisors and astrologers can be accessed from anywhere in the country.
To make things clear, Pyng is currently offering professional services which are different from those offered by IPO-bound home services provider Urban Company.
The Pyng app, and Swiggy's Snacc app mark a shift in Swiggy's super-app strategy. Prior to these two launches, the company had opted to keep its quick commerce offering, Instamart, events and entertainment offering Scenes and eating out product, Dineout all within the main app. Even Bolt, its quick food delivery service, was housed within the app.
