SpiceJet Ltd. has signed a lease agreement to bring five Boeing 737 aircraft into its fleet. These aircraft are set to enter service in October 2025 and will cater to demand during the busy winter season and early summer of 2026.
"This addition will significantly strengthen our fleet and enable us to deliver a superior flying experience to our passengers," Debojo Maharshi, chief business officer, SpiceJet, said on Friday after finalising the deal.
The aircraft are being inducted on a damp lease basis, where operational crew will be shared between the operator and SpiceJet.
This fleet addition, just ahead of the winter schedule, is part of the airline’s broader strategy to bolster capacity. SpiceJet is also in advanced talks with other lessors to further enhance its fleet and strengthen both domestic and international operations, the company said in a statement.
