Rapido on Wednesday partnered with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) to enable Delhi Metro ticket bookings directly through the Rapido app. The integration is part of a broader effort to solve last-mile connectivity challenges and streamline daily commuting in the NCR region.
The service has gone live with introductory discounts, designated pick-up/drop-off points, and Rs 25 flat fares on bike taxis for metro users. Rapido has also introduced dedicated pick-up zones for women, and is training more female riders as part of its safe mobility push.
Speaking to NDTV Profit, Rapido Co-founder Aravind Sanka said the initiative is already active in Chennai and Kochi, and more metro lines will be added as they come onto the ONDC network. “As metro systems digitise via ONDC, we’ll be integrating with them too,” he said.
Sanka confirmed that Rapido already provides logistics services to aggregators and restaurants and these too will be brought onto ONDC, expanding the platform’s digital footprint.
