Mahila Samridhi Yojna Gets Rs 5,100 Crore In Delhi Budget: All You Need To Know About The Scheme

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced an allocation of Rs 5,100 crore for the Mahila Samridhi Yojana in the first budget of her government. The scheme will provide a monthly allowance of Rs 2,500 to eligible women in the national capital.
CM Gupta presented the Delhi Budget in the assembly today, announcing an outlay of Rs 1 lakh crore for FY26. This marks a significant 31.5% increase from the previous year with a key focus on infrastructure development and healthcare.
The Delhi government has doubled its capital expenditure for the 2025-26 financial year to Rs 28,000 crore, aiming to enhance roads, drainage systems, sewerage, and education facilities in the national capital.
“This time, a historic budget of Rs 1 lakh crore is being tabled for 2025-26, which is 31.5% more than the last budget,” said CM Gupta while presenting the budget on the second day of the Assembly session.
The Mahila Samriddhi Yojana was a key election promise of the Bhartiya Janata Party in the state assembly election in the national capital earlier this year. The BJP made a comeback to power in Delhi following a hiatus of nearly three decades.

Eligibility Criteria For Mahila Samriddhi Yojana
The Mahila Samriddhi Yojana is designed to provide financial assistance to women from the lower income group. To qualify, applicants must:
Be a woman, an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of Delhi.
Be between the ages of 21 and 60 years.
Have an annual family income of Rs 3 lakh or less than that.
Not be an income taxpayer or a government employee, nor have an immediate family member in government service.
Not be receiving benefits from any other government scheme.
Application Process
Eligible women can apply for the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana by submitting the necessary documents, including:
Aadhaar Card (Identity Proof)
Voter ID Card (Residence Proof)
Below Poverty Line (BPL) Card
Income Certificate
Applications must be submitted through the official Mahila Samriddhi Yojana website. It is important to ensure all documents are accurate and complete, as missing or incorrect information may result in rejection.
The Delhi government is currently developing a dedicated online portal for the scheme, alongside a new IT system to verify applications and determine eligibility.
