After years of anticipation, filming, and speculation among fans worldwide, the biographical movie Michael is set to bring the life of Michael Jackson to the big screen soon. Directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Jaafar Jackson, nephew of Michael Jackson, in a stellar performance as his superstar uncle, this cinematic celebration promises to showcase the legacy of the 'King of Pop.'

When To Watch Michael In India?

The movie offers audiences an intimate journey through Michael's life as he rose to become a global superstar who redefined popular music. Michael Jackson's fans in India need not wait long to experience the iconic legacy of the pop king.

The movie will arrive in Indian cinemas on April 24, 2026. To offer different experiences to fans, the movie is going to be released in a wide range of formats, including IMAX 2D, Dolby Cinema 2D, 4DX, MX4D, ICE, and 2D Screen X.

Night shows for the biopic will be available from April 23, 2026, in India ahead of its grand nationwide release.

Michael was initially set to premiere in October 2025. However, the date had to be rescheduled due to reshoots and changes in scenes.

The biopic had its world premiere in Berlin on April 10, 2026. Early viewers responded with enthusiasm and emotion. A recent premiere was also held in Los Angeles, which attracted mixed responses from critics. While many have praised Jaafar Jackson's transformative performance as Michael Jackson, several reviewers have criticised the storyline for being overly selective.

Cast

The biopic is produced by Graham King, John Branca, and John McClain, and written by John Logan. Jaafar Jackson, Michael's nephew, stars as the adult version of Michael Jackson in his feature film debut. Juliano Krue Valdi plays the role of young Michael Jackson. The supporting cast features Colman Domingo as Joe Jackson and Nia Long as Katherine Jackson, Michael's parents.
