Ahead Of Ugadi And Eid, Karnataka's KSRTC Announces Additional Buses, Discounts; All You Need To Know

In view of the upcoming Ugadi and Eid-ul-Fitr festivals, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation has announced the operation of additional bus services to manage increased passenger demand across routes. According to the official information, the corporation will operate 2000 extra buses on March 18, 19, and 20 from Bengaluru. These services are intended to facilitate travel during the festival period. In addition to this, on March 22, special buses will be run towards Bengaluru from different locations to accommodate return travel.

Route Details

The additional services will cover both inter-state and intra-state routes. From the Kempegowda Bus Station in Bengaluru, buses will be operated to multiple destinations including Dharmastala, Kukkesubramanya, Shivamogga, Hassan, Mangaluru, Kundapura, Shringeri, Horanadu, Davangere, Hubbali, Dharwad, Belagavi, Vijayapura, Gokarna, Sirsi, Karwar, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Ballari, Koppala, Yadgir, Bidar, Tirupathi, Vijayawada and Hyderabad, among other places.

Apart from this, services will also be operated from the Mysuru Road Bus Station. These buses will run towards Mysuru, Hunsur, Piriyapatna, Virajpet, Kushalanagar and Madikeri, as part of the additional arrangements.

KSRTC Annnounces Discounts 

As part of the announcement, the corporation has also introduced certain fare-related offers for passengers. A 5% discount will be given if four or more passengers book tickets together under a single reservation.

Additionally, passengers who book both onward and return journey tickets at the same time will receive a 10 % discount on the return fare. "The arrangements have been made to handle the expected increase in travel during the festive period, with additional services planned both for outbound and return journeys," the corporation added. 

KSRTC Issues Instructions For Passengers 

Meanwhile the state-run corporation also urged passengers to carefully check the bus stop or pickup point mentioned on their advance booking tickets before reaching the bus station to avoid confusion. Advance reservation of tickets can be made through KSRTC booking counters located in major cities of neighbouring states, including Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Puducherry, Maharashtra and Goa, the release from the RTC added. 

The corporation has stated that details regarding additional services, including departure points and timings, will be available on the advance seat booking platform as well as on the official KSRTC website. In addition to services from major bus stations, special buses will also be operated from all taluk and district bus stands under the jurisdiction of KSRTC.
