The chief executive officer of tech company Astronomer resigned after being caught on camera hugging his human resources director on a kiss cam during a Coldplay concert.
After putting the pair on leave, the company announced Saturday in a post on LinkedIn that Andy Byron had resigned from the company, saying its standards for both conduct and accountability hadn’t been met.
The July 16 incident attracted global attention after footage of a couple quickly ducking for cover after the camera landed on them went viral. Bloomberg hasn’t independently confirmed the identities of the two people.
“While awareness of our company may have changed overnight, our product and our work for customers have not,” wrote the company, which works on data applications.
Astronomer said that it would begin a search for Byron’s successor, with co-founder Pete DeJoy serving as interim chief.
