RRB NTPC Exam 2025: Schedule, Pattern, Syllabus, And Other Details Explained

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) will likely hold the Non-Technical Popular Category (NTPC) exam 2025 soon. RRB exams are conducted to recruit personnel for various positions in the Indian Railways.

Once the exam schedule is announced, detailed information related to registration, admit card, and other details will be available on the official RRB website: rrbapply.gov.in. The information will also be available on RRB regional websites.

In 2024, the NTPC exams were held between June and September. The RRB NTPC exams are conducted for both graduate and non-graduate levels. Last year, the board released about 11,500 vacancies for various posts under this examination.

Once released, follow these steps to check the RRB NTPC exam date notice:

2. Select the specific RRB region where you submitted your application

3. Click on the link related to the exam date for graduate or undergraduate-level posts

4. Download and save the exam date PDF for future reference

Candidates are advised to regularly check official updates and stay prepared for the upcoming exams.

While announcing the schedule, the RRB is also expected to issue the syllabus, exam pattern, duration, and other details. Typically, the NTPC exams are based on four subjects: mathematics, general intelligence and reasoning and general awareness. This exam pattern is followed for many recruitment exams in India. 

The CBT exam typically lasts for 90 minutes. Candidates should note that there is a negative marking for incorrect answers, with one-third of a mark deducted for each wrong response.

Through the NTPC exams, the RRB hires candidates for posts such as Traffic Assistant, Junior Clerk, Accounts Clerk, and Commercial Apprentice, among others. The RRB NTPC exam is conducted in multiple phases, including typing and computer-based tests (CBT).

In its announcement, the board will clarify the sequence of these phases and the expected duration between the two exams. Typically, candidates have to attempt the CBT 1, CBT 2, and Typing Skill Test/Computer-Based Aptitude Test phases to clear the RRB NTPC selection process (as applicable for the relevant position).

Following this, the board will conduct a document verification stage as well as a medical examination to confirm the eligibility of the final candidates.

The final selection is based on the performance of the candidates across all stages. The typing test is applicable for posts such as Junior Account Assistant-cum-Typist, among others.
