Pakistani actor Fawad Khan’s Hindi film Abir Gulal will not be released in India, government sources said on Thursday. The decision, taken by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, follows widespread calls for a boycott in the aftermath of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir.

The film, which was slated for release on May 9, marked Khan’s return to Indian cinema after several years.

Following the fatal terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir, India has decided to prohibit the issuance of visas to Pakistani nationals and hold the Indus Water Treaty between the two countries in abeyance, the Ministry of External Affairs announced on Wednesday.

India's tough approach against Pakistan comes a day after terrorists suspected with cross-border links killed 26 tourists in Pahalgam, one of the hotspot for tourists in South Kashmir.
