Jeet Adani, the younger son of billionaire Gautam Adani, married Diva Shah in an intimate ceremony with close family and friends in attendance on Friday.
To mark the occasion, Gautam Adani announced a donation of Rs 10,000 crore, which would be channelled into various social causes.
The larger part of his donation is expected to go into funding massive infrastructure initiatives in healthcare, education and skill development. These initiatives will focus on giving all sections of society access to a network of affordable world-class hospitals and medical colleges, affordable top-tier K-12 schools and advanced global skill academies with assured employability.
The Adani Group chairman also took to social media to share the first pictures from the wedding ceremony, which took place in the afternoon at the Belvedere Club in Ahmedabad’s Adani Shantigram township.
"With the blessings of Almighty God, Jeet and Diva tied the sacred knot of marriage today. The wedding took place today in Ahmedabad with traditional rituals and Shubh Mangal Bhaav among loved ones," he wrote on X.
"It was a small and extremely private function, so we could not invite all the well-wishers even if we wanted to, for which I apologise. I sincerely seek blessings and love from all of you for my daughter Diva and Jeet," he further tweeted.
On his visit last month to the Maha Kumbh Mela, Gautam Adani had said that his son’s wedding would be conducted in a “simple and traditional way.” Staying true to his word, the billionaire industrialist not only kept the wedding simple but also announced Rs 10,000 crore for social causes.
Sources close to him said that Gautam Adani’s cause list for his sizeable donation has been shaped by his social philosophy of 'Seva Sadhana hai, Seva Prarthana hai, Aur Seva hi Parmatama hai'.
Notably, Jeet Adani's wife Diva is the daughter of diamond trader Jaimin Shah.
According to family insiders, the wedding was a simple affair, with the usual religious rituals followed by a traditional Gujarati ceremony attended only by close relatives and friends.
Jeet Adani currently serves as director in Adani Airports, managing six international airports and overseeing the building of a seventh in Navi Mumbai. He is an alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania's School of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
Just two days before the wedding, Gautam Adani announced ‘Mangal Seva’, a program to support newly married women with disabilities. To begin with, every year, 500 such women will be provided financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh each. Jeet Adani met 21 newly married divyang women and their husbands to launch this initiative.
At Prayagraj on Jan. 21, when asked by reporters at the Maha Kumbh if his son’s wedding would be a “Maha Kumbh of celebrities” as was being widely speculated, Gautam Adani had said, “Definitely not. We are like common people. Jeet came here to take Ma Ganga's blessings. His marriage will happen in a simple and traditional way.”
RPG Enterprises Chairman Harsh Goenka shared a video of Jeet Adani from his wedding festivities on his X profile. "Gautam Adani’s son Jeet got married today in a small, private wedding ceremony in Ahmedabad. The family’s simplicity, values and humility shine through in this intimate celebration, setting an inspiring example of grace and grounded living. wedding ceremony," he wrote.
Vedanta Group Chairman Anil Agarwal extended his warm wishes to Jeet Adani and his bride, responding to Gautam Adani's social media post announcing the wedding.
"Jeet aur Diva ke shubh vivah par aapko aur aapke parivar ko badhai, Gautam bhai! Very nice to see the simplicity with which you are celebrating. This shows the family's humility and good values. God bless," wrote Agarwal.
