Multi-starrer movie Housefull 5 has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the Indian box office within just four days of its release. On Monday, the movie collected Rs 13.15 crore at the domestic box office, taking its total earnings to Rs 104.98 crore, according to film trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

Featuring big names like Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Riteish Deshmukh, Fardeen Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez among others, the movie was launched on June 6. Film critic Taran Adarsh said that the movie faced a crucial test on its first Monday and passed with "flying colours".

“The ‘Blockbuster Tuesdays’ initiative (discounted ticket pricing) is expected to further boost footfalls and contribute to the Tuesday total,” he said in a post on X.

Housefull 5 earned Rs 24.35 crore on its opening day on Friday. Subsequently, it earned Rs 32.38 crore on Saturday, Rs 35.1 crore on Sunday and Rs 13.15 crore on Monday.

According to Adarsh, the movie performed reasonably well in big-city multiplexes. However, its real strength came from smaller towns and single-screen theatres (mass circuits). Earlier, he gave Housefull 5 a 3.5-star rating, calling it “a paisa-vasool entertainer full of madness.”

“In a film like Housefull 5, logic takes a backseat... The key is to surrender yourself to the craziness and enjoy the rollercoaster ride,” he said.

Meanwhile, industry tracker Sacnilk data showed an early estimate of Rs 82 lakh box office collection in India on the fifth day, June 10.

The movie, directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Firuzi Khan, is a murder mystery comedy set aboard a luxury cruise ship. The plot revolves around multiple imposters claiming to be the son of a recently deceased billionaire, each competing for his vast fortune.

However, the film has also drawn criticism from some quarters for the alleged objectification of its female leads. Alongside Jacqueline Fernandez, the cast includes Nargis Fakhri, Chitrangda Singh and Soundarya Sharma.

In the movie, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Johny Lever, Ranjeet Bedi, Shreyas Talpade and Abhishek Bachchan are also in prominent roles.
