In deference to a suggestion for free 'dhaniya' made by a Mumbai customer's mother, Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa responded swiftly and added the feature on the grocery delivery app.
Ankit Sawan recently took to Platform X to share his mother’s recommendation for free 'dhaniya' . The post that tagged Dhindsa read, "Mom got a mini heart attack because she had to pay for dhaniya on Blinkit."
The user shared his mother's suggestion that the app should offer free 'dhaniya' on orders of a specific value.
"@albinder - mom is suggesting that you should bundle it for free with a certain amount of veggies," the post said.
The Blinkit CEO reverted to his post stating, "Will do it."
The CEO later shared a post mentioning the feature had gone live and that Ankit’s mother should be thanked for it. "It's live! Everyone, please thank Ankit's mom," read the post.
"We will polish the feature in the next couple of weeks," the post said.
The complimentary 'dhaniya' and curry leaves thrown in along with the vegetables is the norm while buying from local vendors, but online shopping did not provide that option, till Blinkit upped the game.
Earlier known as 'Grofers', Blinkit was founded in 2013 and is based in Gurgaon, Delhi. It is one of the largest e-grocery companies in the nation according to its website.
