Samsung has announced the availability of One UI 8, its integrated software platform, through its beta programme. Samsung and Google have together accelerated software development that makes One UI 8 one of the first UI platforms to adopt Android 16.

According to Samsung, One UI 8 will debut on its new range of foldables this summer and will expand to more Galaxy devices with the latest version of Android. However, users need not wait till then, and One UI 8 is currently available for Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra devices.

One UI 8 Features

With One UI 8, Samsung has promised “major UX and AI updates,” adding that it will bring software intelligence, “a true multimodal AI agent” for Galaxy devices, and an even more personalised mobile experience for users.

More Natural Communication With AI: Users can communicate naturally with AI that recognises what they are now looking at thanks to intelligent multimodality. One UI 8 will understand users’ environment and provide tailored recommendations.

More Personalised Now Bar and Now Brief: Features like Now Bar and Now Brief will provide even more personalised insights and recommendations to complement users’ daily routine.

Added Privacy: Since many of Galaxy AI experiences use both on-device and cloud-based AI processing, One UI 8 also offers settings where users can choose to process data just on the device.

Seamless Audio Sharing Using Auracast: Multiple Auracast devices, such as Galaxy Buds3 and hearing aids, can join a shared audio stream without manual setup thanks to Auracast, a broadcast audio tech based on Bluetooth LE Audio. Audio connections can be made via QR code scanning and sharing.

QR/NFC-Enabled Service Support: To cut down on wait times and streamline service requests, users can register using QR or NFC for service and repairs.

Travel With ‘Reminder’: With its more user-friendly features, the Reminder app will serve as a travel companion. Travel reminders, such as things to do or places to see, can be managed in one place, and with voice activation, users can add reminders on the go.

Easily Share Memories: With improved Quick Share, it will also be simpler to share memories with loved ones. Users can send and receive files instantly by just tapping the Quick Share button in the Quick settings window.

How To Access One UI 8

To access the One UI 8 beta programme, users need to sign up through the Samsung Members app. While the One UI 8 beta has started with Galaxy S25 devices in Germany, Korea, the UK and the US, it is likely that more devices and regions will be included going forward.
