For all Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6 fans, we have some amazing news in store for you. The second trailer of the video game will reportedly be released in the second half of 2025. Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, released the first trailer of the highly anticipated game in December 2023.
While makers are yet to come up with an official announcement, fans are speculating that it could drop in April.
It all started after a viral post shared on X (formerly Twitter), claimed that the second trailer would come in April.
It stated, “That seems most obvious and aligns with Rockstar’s marketing strategy from the past. April 1, 2025, might be the day, as no one would expect it to drop on April Fool’s Day.”
The theory has been formulated by GTA VI O’Clock, one of the oldest and most popular fan groups of the game. Reportedly, they have received a "credible tip-off" that GTA 6’s second trailer will drop in “early April.”
GTA VI O’Clock’s theory, shared by the X account ‘GTA 6 Alerts,’ is based on a timeline comparing the marketing campaigns of GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2.
It pointed out that Rockstar’s previous AAA games had five- to six-month marketing campaigns. Keeping the launch date in mind, the campaign is expected to begin in late March or early April, the group predicted.
The group said that besides the historical marketing pattern study, the claim is also based on a credible tip-off.
“To paraphrase Nobel laureate Eugene Fama (in relation to the stock market), the past does not predict the future, but we are talking about a more controlled, tried-and-tested promotion strategy, potentially executed by a core group of the same Rockstar employees,” it said.
Meanwhile, GTA 6 - the video game - will be set in Vice City, Rockstar's reimagined version of Miami. The game will also mark a historical first for Rockstar as it reportedly plans to introduce Lucia, the franchise's first female protagonist, among other things.
