OpenAI-owned ChatGPT is down for several users across the globe. The company said that there are elevated error rates and latency that users have been experiencing on various AI platforms.
"We are investigating," said the company after it reported it is currently facing issues.
Users have not just faced issues on ChatGPT, there are also problems reported on AI tools including application programming interfaces and Sora. The issue has been ongoing for about two hours, according to OpenAI.
ChatGPT outages surged rapidly around 3 p.m. IST, with about 800 complaints logged in India alone. About 88% of complaints from India cited the chatbot not responding to queries, 8% reported issues with the mobile app, and 3% faced API-related problems.
Downdetector has also posted a spike in the issues reported by users in the last couple hours. As of 2:37 p.m., 466 users have reported an outage in India.
This follows an outage during early April. Users had connected this outage to the rush of Ghibli image generation features that took the internet by storm. The trend had both spiked users and also caused a crash on April 2.
OpenAI is an artificial intelligence company based in the United States. It provides users with access to multiple AI tools and applications, including ChatGPT, chatgpt.com, Sora, Dall-E, Data Analyst, Web Browser, Writing Coach and many others.
