T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8: Host West Indies were knocked out of the T20 World Cup after a disappointing loss against South Africa on Monday, June 25. The Proteas who won the reduced match by 3 wickets have qualified for the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup for the first time since 2014.
By beating the West Indies, the Aiden Markram-led side also confirmed the top spot in the Super 8 Group 2. Tabraiz Shamsi was declared the 'Player of the match' for his spell of 4-0-27-3, which included the key wickets of Kyle Mayers and Roston Chase.
Earlier, England became the first team to qualify for the semi-final after their 10-wicket victory over the USA on Sunday, June 23.
