Income Tax Department Extends Deadline For Filing Belated Returns By 15 Days

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) on Tuesday extended the last date for filing belated and revised income tax returns for accounting year 2024-25. This change is applicable in the case of resident individuals.

The circular provides interim relief for tax payers to file their income tax returns. The earlier deadline had been set for Dec. 31 this year. The extension has been made till Jan. 15, 2025.
