The second leg of Ayodhya Pran Pratishtha is set to begin in Uttar Pradesh on Monday. More than 1.5 years after the consecration of Ram Lalla's idol, over 100 women will start a Kalash Yatra today at 5:00 p.m., marking the beginning of the four-day rituals. The women will begin their Kalash Yatra procession from the Saryu river till the Ram temple, after which devotees will offer prayers.
A day later, the idols of Lord Shiva, Ganesha, Surya Bhagwan and Sheshavatar will be placed at the temple complex. These will be installed at the four corners of the compound. The idol of Hanumanji will be installed in the central area on the south side. Idols of Mata Annapurna and Maa Durga will be placed on the north side. The Ram Darbar will be established on the first floor. The ritual worship will begin with a ceremonial bath of all idols using water from the Saryu river.
On June 4, the idols will be bathed with water, and food, fruits, milk, curd and honey will be offered in all the temples. The temple will also house the idols of the seven sages.
“Eight splendid Devalayas have been newly constructed within the Mandir Complex, each enshrining a 'vigraha' of revered Shastriya Devtas. The sacred Pran Pratishtha ceremony for these 'vigrahas' will be conducted with full religious observance, commencing on June 3,” the official account of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra, the trust overseeing the management of the temple, said last week.
The final day of the grand event will be marked by a special puja. It will take place on June 5 during the ‘Abhijeet Muhurat’. The puja will begin between 11 a.m. and 11:40 a.m. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with Acharya Jai Prakash of Chandauli, will perform the 'puja' and Prana Pratishtha along with 101 Vedic Acharyas.
After the Prana Pratishtha, daily puja will begin in all the temples. However, devotees will have to wait a few more months for darshan. Entry for the general public will be delayed as construction work is still underway at the temple complex.
Ayodhya has been decorated for the upcoming event. The Pran Pratishtha ceremony on Jan. 22, 2024, saw thousands of devotees and dignitaries gather. During the seven-day event, Ram Lalla's idol was consecrated in the core structure, for which Prime Minister Narendra Modi had performed one of the key rituals.
