Top 10 Most-Valued Firms Lose Rs 7,789.6 Crore In Market Cap

The top 10 most-valued firms lost a cumulative Rs 7,789.63 crore in market valuation on Monday, with Reliance Industries Ltd., HDFC Bank Ltd. and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. emerging as the biggest losers.

RIL's market capitalisation dropped by Rs 35,319.49 crore to Rs 15.88 lakh crore, while that of HDFC Bank fell by Rs 22,063.67 crore to Rs 13.02 lakh crore.

HUL witnessed a market-cap loss of Rs 24,08.33 crore, bringing its market cap to Rs 5.12 lakh crore. ICICI Bank Ltd., Bajaj Finance Ltd. and State Bank of India were among the top gainers of Monday's trading session.

RIL retained its position as the most-valued firm, followed by HDFC Bank, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Infosys, SBI, Bajaj Finance, HUL and ITC Ltd.

The benchmark equity indices ended the session in the red, with the media, and oil and gas sectors declining the most. The NSE Nifty 50 settled 5.4 points or 0.02% lower at 22,119.30, while the BSE Sensex closed 112.16 points or 0.15% down at 73,085.94.
