Stock Market At Closing
Nifty and Sensex end mixed on Tuesday with Nifty ending in green and Sensex in the red.
Intraday, both Nifty and Sensex had fallen over 0.60%.
Nifty ends 0.17% or 37.60 points up at 22,497.90.
Sensex ends 0.02% or 12.85 points lower at 74,102.32.
Broader indices also closed mixed. Nifty Midcap 150 ended 0.42% higher; Nifty Smallcap 250 closed 0.65% lower.
Most sectoral indices rose with Nifty realty and Nifty oil and gas rising the most. Nifty Bank and Nifty IT led the decline.
The market breadth was skewed in the favour of sellers, as 2,469 stocks declined, 1,499 advanced and 124 remained unchanged on the BSE.
ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Industries, Sun Pharma and Trent emerged as the top gainers for the day.
On the other hand, IndusInd Bank, Infosys, Mahindra and Mahindra, Axis Bank and HUL were the worst performers of the Nifty 50 index.

Over 2.98 million shares of Infosys were traded via a block deal on Tuesday. The share of Infosys fell as much as 2.54% to Rs 1,656.95 apiece.
Stock Market Live: CDSL Shares Hit Eight Month Low
The shares of Central Depository Services Ltd. fell to over eight-month-low on Tuesday after new demat accounts declined in February.
A total of 19.04 crore accounts were registered in February with CDSL and its peer NSDL, while 18.81 accounts were registered with them in January. This indicates that 22.61 lakh new accounts were added in the last month. This is 48% lower than the new accounts added in February last year.
The shares of CDSL extended its fall for the third session as it fell as much as 3.17% to Rs 1,072.20 apiece, the lowest level since June 2024. It pared losses to trade 1.89% lower at Rs 1,086.40 apiece, as of 1:45 p.m.
IndusInd Bank Stock Crash — Check SEBI Rules On F&O Price Band Revision
Shares of IndusInd Bank Ltd. crashed on the exchanges on Tuesday. The stock has plunged nearly 26%, leading to a market capitalisation wipeout of more than Rs 18,000 crore.
In cash market and futures contracts, the session starts with a price band of 10% of the last closing price. The same can be flexed subsequently a number of times, subject to cooling period restrictions.
For the first two instances of flexing, the price band could be flexed by 5% of the previous day's closing price after the cooling off period. This cooling off period would be 15 minutes.
For subsequent two instances of flexing, price band would be flexed by 3% of the last closing price after "the cooling off period of 30 minutes", as per SEBI's rules.

Indian equities were trading lower after opening. Nifty was flat around 12 p.m. it rose nearly 0.01% at 22,463.90 and Sensex fell over 90 points at 74,037.10.
Intraday, both Nifty and Sensex fell over 0.60%.
Nifty fell 0.65% to 22,314.70.
Sensex fell 0.61% to 73,663.60.
Broader indices were trading lower. Nifty Midcap 150 fell 0.07%; Nifty Smallcap 250 was trading 0.92% lower.
Most sectoral indices rose, led by Nifty realty and Nifty oil and gas.

The financial markets should be ready for more volatility Sonal Varma, Managing Director and Chief Economist (India and Asia ex-Japan) Nomura told NDTV Profit. She further said that there could be weaker global growth in the next one year.
The US is likely to see weaker growth if it does implement the tariffs on April 2, added Varma. However, she said the administration is ready to take on some short term pain. This could likely lead to disinflation in emerging markets.
Talking about India she said that global supply chains shifting from China in the medium term would benefit us.
