Indian benchmark indices snapped their seven-session upward trajectory to close lower on Thursday.
The NSE Nifty 50 closed 82.25 points or 0.34% higher at 24,246.7, while the BSE Sensex ended 315.06 points or 0.39% up at 79,801.43.
IndusInd Bank Ltd. was the top gainer among the Nifty 50 stocks as it ended 3.17% higher. UltraTech Cement Ltd. closed 1.89% up at Rs 11,949 apiece. Following closely behind, Grasim Industries Ltd. rose to close 1.67% higher at Rs 2,685.60 per share.
Dr Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. closed 1.59% higher at Rs 1,186 apiece. The next biggest gainer of the trading session was Tata Motors Ltd. as the stock climbed to close 1.21% up at Rs 659.90 apiece
The biggest laggard for the trading session was Hindustan Unilever Ltd., as the stock declined 4.12% due to margin worries on the release of their Q4 results, to Rs 2,423.80 apiece. It was closely followed by Bharti Airtel Ltd. and Eicher Motors Ltd., which declined 1.89% and 1.88%, respectively.
