FPIs Stay Net Sellers For Seventh Session, Offload Rs 4,637 Crore

Foreign portfolio investors stayed net sellers of Indian shares for the seventh consecutive session on Tuesday as they sold stocks worth Rs 4,636.6 crore, according to provisional data from the National Stock Exchange.

The domestic institutional investors, who stayed buyers for the 17th straight session, acquired stocks worth Rs 6,146.8 crore.

The FPIs have sold shares worth Rs 13,886 crore in July so far and Rs 14,590 crore in the previous month, as per National Securities Depositories Ltd. data. In 2025 so far, the FPIs have net sold equities worth Rs 91,787 crore.

India's benchmark equity indices snapped a three-session decline to close higher on Tuesday as investors bought into large-cap heavyweights Reliance Industries Ltd. and HDFC Bank Ltd.

The NSE Nifty 50 settled 140 points or 0.57% higher at 24,821.1, managing to break the 24,800 resistance level. The BSE Sensex added 447 points or 0.55% to close at 81,337.8.
