Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate Ganapathy Rajkumar won from the Lok Sabha constituency of Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu by a margin of 1.18 lakh votes, according to the Election Commission of India.
Rajkumar got 5.68 lakh votes, while the BJP's K Annamalai bagged 4.5 lakh votes.
The voter turnout for the Coimbatore seat during the 2019 Parliament election stood at 63.6%.
Candidates for the Lok Sabha 2024 elections are K Annamalai from the Bharatiya Janata Party, Ganapathy Rajkumar from the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, and Singai Ramachandran from the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.
In the 2019 election, CPI(M)'s PR Natarajan won the majority of votes from Coimbatore, with a total of 5,71,150 votes or 46% of the total. BJP's CP Radhakrishnan polled 31% of the votes, at 3,92,007. In 2014, AIADMK's Nagarajan clinched victory with 4,31,717 votes.
