Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the seventh anniversary of the Goods and Services Tax with a social media post emphasising its impact on the Indian population.
"For us, reforms are a means to improve the lives of 140 crore Indians," Modi posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
He highlighted the reduction in prices of household goods post-GST implementation, noting the significant savings for the poor and common man.
Modi reaffirmed his government's commitment to ongoing reforms aimed at enhancing the quality of life for all citizens.
Seven Years Of GST
The Goods and Services Tax is a value-added tax levied on most goods and services sold for domestic consumption. Introduced on July 1, 2017, GST aims to unify the national market, enhance tax compliance, and reduce the tax burden on consumers.
