India remains a key growth market for Honeywell India and the energy transition sector is particularly important for the country, given the global focus on energy security, according to Anant Maheshwari, president and chief executive officer, global regions, Honeywell.

The company's goal is to stay at the forefront of technology in aviation, automation, and energy transition, Maheshwari told NDTV Profit at the World Economic Forum in Davos. "Every part of the world is in an upcycle and there's an increasing desire for global connection."

Highlighting India's key role in the aviation sector, Maheshwari said that in uncertain times, people were seeking more opportunities to meet and find certainty, which makes the future of aviation look promising.

Honeywell has a significant engineering presence in India, with facilities in Madurai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Gurugram. "We are doing a lot of local innovation, especially in the energy transition space."

He also highlighted the emerging opportunities in biofuels for India. "What India achieves in this area will create an economic and investment model that will be relevant to many other countries."

India also plays a central role in automation, with many engineering talents driving automation innovations coming from the country, he said.

In this sector, Honeywell has made substantial contributions, supplying a wide range of products globally, with auto parts being sourced from India to serve international markets.

On the policy front, Maheshwari praised the Indian government's clear policy framework and the entrepreneurial spirit emerging from states. "There is a strong desire to drive innovation, investment and develop the right business models," he said.

Reaffirming Honeywell's commitment to India, Maheshwari said they would continue to invest in India. "India is a sustainable investment for us. We have a significant presence here and the country appreciates our contribution. Our relationship with India is built on trust and ongoing dialogue," he added.
