Swiggy has introduced a new feature called Fasting Mode, which allows users to pause food notifications during fasting periods.
This feature, launched on Monday, initially supports Ramazan and will also be available for other fasting periods like Navaratri. The company stated that Fasting Mode ensures that no notifications are sent during fasting hours, while keeping the app ready for use when needed.
"Users can switch Fasting Mode on or off anytime from the Swiggy app. Once activated, food notifications will be paused between Suhoor (pre-dawn) and 4 PM for all users observing fasting during Ramzan Notifications automatically resume after fasting hours, without users having to turn them back on,' Swiggy stated.
The Fasting Mode feature will be available year-round for different fasting occasions, providing users with greater flexibility in managing their food notifications.
Earlier in February, the board of Swiggy has approved an investment of Rs 1,000 crore in its wholly owned subsidiary, Scootsy Logistics Pvt., to support its business expansion.
The investment will be made in one or more tranches through the subscription to a rights issue. The approved funds will be used for working capital and other capital expenditures as part of the company's business expansion plan.
Shares of Swiggy closed 0.36% lower at Rs 359.65 apiece on the NSE, compared to a 0.41% fall in the benchmark Nifty. The stock has fallen 21.13% in the last 12 months.
