HDFC Bank Ltd.'s total advances have grown 3% year-on-year to Rs 25.42 lakh crore in the October-December quarter of fiscal 2025, the bank said in an exchange filing on Saturday.
The private lender's deposits grew by 15.8% to Rs 25.63 lakh crore year-on-year during the third quarter. HDFC Bank's Current Account-Savings Account deposits rose 4.4% to Rs 8.72 lakh crore, the business update said.
In the last quarter, the lender's gross advances were at Rs 25.19 lakh crore and deposits were at Rs 25 lakh crore.
Retail loans during the quarter were up 10% year-on-year, commercial and rural banking loans were up 11.5%, but corporate loans fell 10.3%.
"During the quarter ended December 31, 2024, the bank securitised/assigned loans of Rs 21,600 crore (year-to-date Rs 46,300 billion) as a strategic initiative," the filing added.
HDFC Bank will announce its third quarter results on Jan. 22.
On Friday, the lender had received the Reserve Bank of India's approval to acquire “aggregate holding” of up to 9.50% of the share capital or voting rights in Kotak Mahindra Bank, AU Small Finance Bank, Capital Small Finance Bank.
Shares of HDFC Bank closed 2.53% lower at Rs 1,748.40 per share, compared to a 0.76% decline in the NSE Nifty 50 on Friday.
