Bharat Electronics Ltd. announced on Thursday that it won new orders worth Rs 2,323 crore from Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd. and Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd.
The order involves the supply of base and depot spares for the missile systems on Indian naval ships. The spares will ensure operational continuity of onboard mission-critical equipment, according to a BEL statement.
A day ago, the Navratna defence public sector undertaking said it secured additional orders worth Rs 537 crore since the last disclosure on May 16.
The major orders received include communication equipment, advanced composite communication system for ship, jammers, software, simulator upgrades, spares and test rigs.
Earlier, the company said it was expecting a potential order of up to Rs 40,000 crore from Project Kusha, the indigenous alternative to the S-400 air defence system. The company had said it was working as a development partner with the Defence Research and Development Organisation on the project.
"We are the development partner with DRDO and are jointly developing so many subsystems of Kusha, mainly different types of radars and control systems," Chairperson and Managing Director Manoj Jain had said during the March-quarter earnings call.
The government-owned company anticipates Rs 55,000 crore in new orders for FY26 and a minimum revenue growth of 15%.
BEL's share price ended 0.96% higher at Rs 394.35 apiece on the BSE after the announcement, compared to a 0.55% advance in the benchmark Sensex. It has risen 51% in the last 12 months and 34% on a year-to-date basis.
Twenty-four out of the 28 analysts tracking the company have a 'buy' rating on the stock, one recommends a 'hold' and three suggest a 'sell', according to Bloomberg data. The 12-month analysts' consensus target price on the stock is Rs 399.8, implying an upside of 1.4%.
