TVS Motor Two-Wheeler Dispatches Fall 3%
TVS Motor Co Ltd.'s two-wheeler dispatches rose 3% year-on-year to 2.28 lakh units in December due to lower sales in the overseas markets.

Total vehicle sales fell 3.6% to 2.42 lakh units.
Motorcycle sales fell 6.7% to 1.25 lakh units.
Scooter dispatches rose 14% to 76,766 units.
Exports fell 23% to 79,402 units.
M&M Car Sales Up 61%, Tractor Dispatches Rise 27%
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.'s total passenger vehicle sales jumped 61% year-on-year to 28,445 units in December. The total tractor sales rose 27% to 23,243 units, with 30% growth in the domestic sales.

Medium duty light commercial vehicle dispatches rose 29% to 16,170 units.
Three-wheeler sales more than doubled to 5,052 units.
Tractor exports rose 1% to 1,603 units.
The company said it will keep a close watch on the dynamic supply chain situation amid continuing international disruptions and increasing coronavirus cases.
"Rabi crop sowing has progressed very well and is higher than last year acreage and also higher than the average of last 5 years. Wheat and oil seeds are expected to be bumper harvest," Hemant Sikka, president of farm equipment sector at the company, said in a statement.
The strong Rabi sowing, good kharif procurement and likely exports of wheat, is keeping the sentiment upbeat in the farming sector, leading to strong demand for tractors and farm implements, he said.
Hero MotoCorp's Sales Flat In December On Lower Exports
Hero MotoCorp Ltd.'s dispatches to dealerships remained flat at 3.94 lakh units in December due to lower exports.
Sales Highlights (YoY):
Domestic sales rise 1.8% to 3.81 lakh units.
Total motorcycle sales fell 5.3% to 3.57 lakh units.
Scooter sales surged 109% to 37,430 units.
Exports fell 37% to 12,814 units.
The upcoming marriage and festive season in many parts of the country, and with the continuously improving consumer sentiment on account of favorable macro-economic indicators, the company expects a positive momentum to build up from the fourth quarter onwards, it said in a press release.
Weak Exports Remain A Drag On Bajaj Auto's Sales
Bajaj Auto Ltd.'s sales fell 22% year-on-year to 2.81 lakh units as deep cuts in exports remained a drag on the overall tally.

Total domestic sales rose 2% to 1.49 lakh units.
Two-wheeler dispatches dive 23% to 2.47 lakh units.
CV sales fell 21% to 34,462 units.
Exports decline 39% to 1.33 lakh units.
Ashok Leyland’s Dispatches Surge 45% With Growth Across Segments
Ashok Leyland Ltd.’s dispatches to dealerships jumped 45% year-on-year to 18,138 units in December with strong showing in both truck and bus categories. The sales grew 24.6% compared to the sales in November.

Total domestic sales rose 49% to 17,112 units.
Total sales of trucks jumped 54% to 10,143 units.
Dispatches of buses more than doubled to 2,119 units.
Sales of light commercial vehicles rose 20% to 5,876 units.
Eicher's Royal Enfield Sales Dip 7%
Eicher Motors Ltd.'s total motorcycle sale fell 7% year-on-year to 68,400 units in December as dispatches in the premium category fell steeply.

Sales of models with engine capacity up to 350 cc fell 2% to 61,223 units.
Sales of models with engine capacity exceeding 350 cc fell 36% to 7,177 units.
Exports flat at 8,579 units.
Escorts Kubota's Dispatches To Dealerships Rise 19%
Escorts Kubota Ltd.'s wholesale sales rose 18.7% year-on-year to 5,573 units in December. However, the dispatches were lower than that in November, when the company sold 7,960 units.

Domestic dispatches rose 22% to 4,979 units.
Exports fell 3.4% to 594 units.
The company said rural sentiments continue to remain favorable on account of good kharif procurement, rabi sowing and better water level in reservoirs.
Tata Motors' Car Sales Rise 14%, CV Dispatches Fall
Tata Motors Ltd.'s passenger vehicle sales rose in December but dispatches in the commercial vehicles segment continued to decline due to weak exports.
Sales Highlights (YoY):
Total domestic sales rose 10% to 72,997 units.
Commercial vehicle dispatches fell 0.6% to 33,949 units.
Sales of passenger vehicles rose 14% to 40,407 units.
"Improving fleet utilizations, pick up in road construction projects and increase in cement consumption catalysed the demand recovery for MHCVs. CV exports, however, remained subdued due to the prevailing economic situation in most overseas markets," Girish Wagh, executive director at Tata Motors, said in a statement.
Tata Motors' passenger vehicle arm's MD Shailesh Chandra expects the overall PV industry to continue witnessing robust demand in the next quarter. The company will remain vigilant and closely monitor any possible impact on the supply side due to rising COVID case globally, he added in the statement.
Toyota Kirloskar's Sales Decline 3.8% In December
Toyota Kirloskar Motor's sales fell 3.8% year-on-year to 10,421 units in December.
Total wholesale sales in 2022 rose 23% to 1.6 lakh units, making it the highest dispatches in last ten years for the Toyota Group company. The previous record was 1.7 lakh dispatches in 2012.
The company said it has been a tremendous year both in terms of sales and product launches. The Innova-maker plans to showcase its sustainable products in the upcoming Auto Expo 2023.
MG Motor India's Dispatches Jump 53%
MG Motor India's dispatches to dealerships jumped 53% year-on-year to 3,889 units in December.
It's ZS EV registered a 60% growth in wholesales in 2022, the company said.
"The twin challenges of the pandemic and those presented by logistical headwinds have had an impact on production, but the coming month could see an improvement across many of these parameters," the company said in a statement.
Eicher Motors’ Commercial Vehicle Arm’s Sales Rise 17.3%
Eicher Motors Ltd.’s arm VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. reported a 17.3% year-on-year growth in dispatches to dealerships in December.
Total dispatches rose 17.3% to 7,221 units.
Domestic Eicher sales rose 28.5% to 6,671 units
Eicher exports fell 59% to 332 units
Maruti Suzuki Sales Fall 9% On Lower Small Car Dispatches
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.'s total dispatches to dealerships fell 9% year-on-year to 1.39 lakh units due to lower sales of small cars and limited production amid shortage of semiconductors.

Auto Sales Preview
India’s automakers are announcing their December sales figures today.
According to analysts, the sales growth has slowed down as recovery in two-wheelers lost steam after the festive bump and chip shortages limited production of passenger vehicles.
The sales are expected to be mixed with few automakers expected to register lower dispatches year-on-year. Nearly all companies’ sales are likely to be lower compared to November, according to the consensus estimates of analysts.
