Bhooth Bangla Box Office Collection Day 9: Akshay Kumar's Film Sees Dip Despite Weekend, Mints This Amount

Bhooth Bangla saw a dip in momentum on Day 9 (Saturday) despite it being the weekend. The Priyadarshan directorial has earned around Rs 3.75 crore net so far. With this, its total India net collection has reached Rs 93.90 crore as per Sacnilk report. The film is currently playing in 4,899 shows across the country, with its India gross collection at Rs 111.63 crore.

Occupancy Trends

Compared to Day 8, when it earned Rs 5.75 crore, the film has seen a sharp drop. The Hindi version recorded an overall occupancy of 9.54% in the morning shows, indicating a steady start to the day. There is still room for improvement, especially as weekend footfall typically picks up later in the day.

Regional Performance

Looking at different cities, Pune is currently performing the best at 16% occupancy, followed by Mumbai (14%) and Bengaluru (13%), with decent response. NCR and Jaipur, both with 12% occupancy, are showing average footfall, while Lucknow and Chandigarh are slightly lower in the range of 10-11%.

On the weaker side, Ahmedabad and Kolkata have reported low turnout with just 7% occupancy. Hyderabad is also underperforming. Surat and Bhopal are among the lowest-performing cities, and Chennai has very minimal audience presence so far.

Overall Trend So Far

The film had a good start, earning Rs 3.75 crore from previews. It then picked up well over the first weekend with Rs 12.25 crore on Friday, Rs 19 crore on Saturday, and Rs 23 crore on Sunday, taking Week 1 total to Rs 84.40 crore.

However, collections dropped during weekdays—Rs 6.75 crore on Monday, Rs 8 crore on Tuesday, Rs 6.15 crore on Wednesday, and Rs 5.50 crore on Thursday. It slightly improved on Day 8 with Rs 5.75 crore but has dropped again on Day 9.

About The Film

The film stars Akshay Kumar along with Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu, Mithila Palkar, and Wamiqa Gabbi. It is a horror-comedy about a man who inherits a palace where strange events begin during a wedding.

Despite the drop, the film is close to the Rs 100 crore mark, and its weekend performance will decide how well it continues.
