Samsung Galaxy S26 Series Surpasses S25 Pre-Orders With 1.35 Million Units, Ultra Model Leads Demand

Customers in South Korea have placed 1.35 million pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S26 range, setting a new benchmark for the brand's flagship S series devices. The number exceeds the roughly 1.3 million orders recorded for the previous generation, the Samsung Galaxy S25, in 2025.

Renowned tipster IceUniverse posted on X, “Samsung Electronics announced on the 6th that preorders for the Galaxy S26 series in South Korea reached 1.35 million units, surpassing the 1.3 million record previously set by its predecessor, the Galaxy S25.”

“Notably, the flagship Galaxy S26 Ultra accounted for as much as 70% of total preorder sales, highlighting exceptionally strong market demand. The Galaxy S26 Ultra has also set the highest sales record ever among all Ultra series models to date,” he added.

When it comes to colour options, traditional tones are leading the way. The Galaxy S26 Ultra and Galaxy S26 are most commonly ordered in white and black, whereas the Galaxy S26 Plus has seen the strongest demand for black and cobalt purple variants.

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, features a 6.9-inch touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1,440 × 3,120 pixels (1.5K). The display is protected by Gorilla Armor 2. 

The handset is available with either 12GB or 16GB of RAM and runs on Android 16. It houses a 5,000mAh non-removable battery and supports both wireless charging and 60W fast charging.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra operates on Samsung's One UI 8.5 interface, built on Android 16. It runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.

It is offered with internal storage options of 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. The handset supports dual Nano-SIM cards and measures 163.6 mm by 78.1 mm by 7.9 mm, weighing 214 grams. Samsung has introduced the device in four colour finishes: black, blue, purple and white.

In India, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra starts at Rs 1,39,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model. The 12GB + 512GB configuration is priced at Rs 1,59,999, while the range-topping version with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage carries a price tag of Rs 1,89,999.
