Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins has heaped praise on batting genius Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The appreciation from the injured SRH star came after Hyderabad's 2026 Indian Premier League match against Rajasthan Royals on Saturday, which saw Sooryavanshi slam a 36-ball hundred.
The century went in vain as SRH beat RR by 5 wickets, but Cummins did not hold back in acknowledging the teenager's efforts with the bat.
The Australian called the 15-year-old his new " favourite player".
"Yeah, I think he's my new favourite player. He hits the ball so hard, it's great to watch. It's good fun. "
Sooryavanshi hit five fours and 12 sixes as he powered his way to 103 in only 37 balls and notched the third quickest ton in the history of the IPL.

"You've got to be right on the money as a bowler. Because if you're not, it's going a long way. He's impressive.
"He's had a great start to his career. I love the way he plays. It takes the game on." Cummins added.
Sooryvanshi's knock saw RR get to a score of 228/6. The target of 229 wasn't enough as SRH chased it down riding on the back of fiery half-centuries from Abhishek Sharma (57 in 29 balls) and Ishan Kishan (74 in 31 balls).
